History

It was Ruth Handler, wife of Elliot Handler (founder of the Mattel toy company) who had the idea to build an adult doll that until now existed only on paper. Indeed, the Elliot built Lili doll made of celluloid, earlier than Barbie, and may have inspired Ruth.
