One of the fascinating toys of all time would be the Barbie doll. And no wonder, since. Has Barbie us for over 45 years in the best-selling doll in history, and countless hours of fun for many girls from from around the world. The question brings to mind a good, as did the Barbie doll come about?

The history of the Barbie doll is a good story. They really go all the wayBack to the top of Mattel, in order to fully understand its origins. In 1938 was formed by two friends always Mattel, Harold Matson (MAT) and Elliot Handler (El). Did you know that was originally formed to Mattel, not a toy manufacturer? In fact, Mattel began as a manufacturer of frame. Later they started to doll furniture.

Elliot Handler was married and had a daughter, Barbara, enjoyed playing with dolls, like all girls. Instead of Baby Doll Barbara liked playing with dolls for adults, but in reality was not like the dolls on the market. In an impromptu visit to Europe one day Mrs. Handler found a German doll named Lilli in a shop. The funny thing was, this was also not marketed as a doll. It was more a sort of joke gift for men.

When Mrs. Handler returned home again, Lilli was a success with Barbara. Mattel has an idea. They bought the marketing rights to Lilli and changed its name> Barbie, of course, in honor of his daughter Barbara. As they say, the rest is history. Barbie was introduced in 1959 for the world at the New York International Toy Fair in March. In fact, 9 March 1959 is the official birthday of Barbie.

Barbie was an instant success, and the United States later this year. It seemed that years Barbie has been a little 'alone, however, so the next time, Ken was introduced. Did you know that Ken was named after Handler's son,Kenneth?

Barbie was originally wearing a swimsuit striped black and white. They also had the opportunity to buy with brown hair and blond hair. Of course, Barbie's clothes were made available later in many different styles and selections. Every dress was offered conceivable. Dress Barbie was modeled after the shows stylist in Paris.

The history of the Barbie doll has an incredible story. How long can still popular? This is anyones guess, but Barbie is still strong after nearly 50 years, so I doubt that many more years to come.
