10 Fun Things to Do in Prague, Czech

Old world charm is what first comes to mind when considering Prague as a holiday destination. Some of its most famous attractions are steeped in history, including Prague Castle, which was built in the 9th century; the Old Town churches, houses, and palaces; the Jewish Quarter; and the Estates Theater. But that's not all there is to Prague. So what are ten fun things you can do in this city?

1. The number one fun thing to do in Prague is definitely to take in the sights and sounds of the bygone era through the landmarks that remain. In addition to those sites already mentioned, many visitors also make time to visit places such as the Old Town Hall and the Astronomical Clock, Charles Bridge, and the Museum of Communism.

2. The second fun activity would be making the rounds of the local theatres. There are a variety of inexpensive performances and classical music and jazz concerts that draw in crowds throughout the week. These would be listed in the city's daily English newspaper. In most cases, tickets can be booked in advance.

3. What trip is complete without shopping for local items? Czech glass is a famous product that is often snapped up in Prague. The local items to look out for include Bohemian crystal, porcelain, ceramics, Czech garnets, costume jewelry, handcrafted accessories, handcrafted tapestries, artwork replicas, photography, toys, and marionettes.

4. Take the children to visit Petrin Hill and its Observation Tower-a miniature Eiffel Tower. The area also has a playground and a mirror maze, which provides hours of fun and laughter.

5. Visit the museums. The National Museum holds historical and natural history collections, while the National Technical Museum allows for a more hands-on approach. 9. Sample the local cuisine. Traditional Czech food is designed to be paired with the local beer. Pork or beef are the most common offerings, but other options including chicken, duck, turkey, fish, rabbit, and lamb are also available.

10. Get romantic. Take a dinner cruise down the Vltava River and soak up the sights of the city by night or enjoy a horse-drawn carriage ride around the Old Town and Jewish Quarter.

The incredible story of the Barbie doll

One of the fascinating toys of all time would be the Barbie doll. And no wonder, since. Has Barbie us for over 45 years in the best-selling doll in history, and countless hours of fun for many girls from from around the world. The question brings to mind a good, as did the Barbie doll come about?

The history of the Barbie doll is a good story. They really go all the wayBack to the top of Mattel, in order to fully understand its origins. In 1938 was formed by two friends always Mattel, Harold Matson (MAT) and Elliot Handler (El). Did you know that was originally formed to Mattel, not a toy manufacturer? In fact, Mattel began as a manufacturer of frame. Later they started to doll furniture.

Elliot Handler was married and had a daughter, Barbara, enjoyed playing with dolls, like all girls. Instead of Baby Doll Barbara liked playing with dolls for adults, but in reality was not like the dolls on the market. In an impromptu visit to Europe one day Mrs. Handler found a German doll named Lilli in a shop. The funny thing was, this was also not marketed as a doll. It was more a sort of joke gift for men.

When Mrs. Handler returned home again, Lilli was a success with Barbara. Mattel has an idea. They bought the marketing rights to Lilli and changed its name> Barbie, of course, in honor of his daughter Barbara. As they say, the rest is history. Barbie was introduced in 1959 for the world at the New York International Toy Fair in March. In fact, 9 March 1959 is the official birthday of Barbie.

Barbie was an instant success, and the United States later this year. It seemed that years Barbie has been a little 'alone, however, so the next time, Ken was introduced. Did you know that Ken was named after Handler's son,Kenneth?

Barbie was originally wearing a swimsuit striped black and white. They also had the opportunity to buy with brown hair and blond hair. Of course, Barbie's clothes were made available later in many different styles and selections. Every dress was offered conceivable. Dress Barbie was modeled after the shows stylist in Paris.

Barbie has been in years, everything from a college student, a chairman at the end. Any type of accessory isled, including, cars, homes and pets. Mermaid Barbie was an Olympian, even one. The history of the Barbie doll has an incredible story. How long can still popular? This is anyones guess, but Barbie is still strong after nearly 50 years, so I doubt that many more years to come.
